As a part of its emphasis on personal ministry, The Baptist Foundation of Alabama (BFA) recently held its first annual Christmas celebration for senior adults at Capital Heights Baptist Church in Montgomery.
BFA staff served a traditional Christmas meal to the 65 luncheon attendees. A time of fellowship and entertainment followed.
“Many in this group do not have family with which to celebrate this wonderful season and the Foundation is their extended family,” said Tom Randall, vice president for ministry at BFA. “Some came from great distances to share in this time of fellowship and celebration of our Lord’s birth,” he said.
“Listening to these Baptists talk of how the Lord is blessing their lives is wonderful,” said Barry Bledsoe, president of BFA. “To see the look of joy on their faces and to hear them singing hymns to our Lord make the long hours and hard work worth every minute.”
Bledsoe said the senior adults who attended the luncheon came from a variety of backgrounds.”The common thread that runs throughout this group is their love for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. These individuals are living the principles of Romans 12.
“These dedicated Christians have taken steps to see that the gospel of Jesus Christ is shared with others long after their lives on this earth are over – a true Kingdom legacy,” he said. (BFA)
