Shades Crest Church, Hoover, will hold its 10th annual High Country 5K April 9, 8 a.m. The race will begin at the church. There will be a kids’ run at 9 a.m. Fred Hunter, meteorologist for Fox6 WBRC, will be the emcee. Registration includes a T-shirt, pre-race dinner April 8, 6 p.m., in the fellowship hall and a post-race pancake breakfast for the runner’s family during the awards ceremony on Saturday.
