Muscle Shoals Association Director of Missions Bill Wolfe died Dec. 9 due to complications from quadruple bypass surgery. He was 53.
As director, he began youth rallies and a senior adult ministry and revitalized the association’s evangelism rallies. Last year, he also headed the association’s first senior adult trip and pastor mission trip. His love of preaching led him to speak at various churches in the association almost every Sunday during his tenure.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Wolfe received his undergraduate degree in pastoral theology from Mid-South Bible College in Memphis, Tenn., and his master of ministry degree from Bethany Theological Seminary in Dothan. He also completed post-graduate work at Union University in Jackson, Tenn.
Ordained in 1968, Wolfe served as pastor of churches in Tennessee, Mississippi and Missouri before moving to Alabama. During his ministry, he also served in several other capacities in Tennessee including associational moderator, Sunday school director and state Baptist executive board member. He is survived by his wife, Tanna, of 31 years.
