High school students will be challenged to follow God, even into “uncharted” territory, during the 2011 Youth Evangelism Conference (YEC), hosted by the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM), conference leaders said. YEC is scheduled for July 22–23 at Vaughn Forest Baptist Church, Montgomery.
Kyle Wiltshire, associate in the SBOM office of collegiate and student ministries, said the conference’s theme is “Uncharted” because “oftentimes God calls us to do things that aren’t normal, and sometimes He calls us to go off the map.”
Speakers for the sessions will be Dave Rhodes, lead strategist and speaker for Wayfarer ministries, and Michael Kelley, author and editor at LifeWay Christian Resources. Aaron Keyes, recording artist and worship pastor of Grace Fellowship Church, Atlanta, will lead worship. Bean and Bailey, a comedy act, will provide entertainment at YEC.
Wiltshire said the goal of the conference is to introduce students who aren’t believers to Christ and encourage students who do know Christ to grow in their faith.
The registration fee includes a T-shirt and conference materials. For more information or to register, visit www.alsbom.org/yecregister.
