Jack Langston, ordained Baptist minister and member of Hunter Street Baptist Church, died Jan. 2.
Langston worked 40 years serving as minister of music at First Baptist Church, Brewton; First Baptist Church, Fort Payne; First Baptist Church, Oxford; Second Baptist Church in Bessemer; and Mountain Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C. As a student at Howard College, Langston served at Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills. He later studied at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Langston was also a staff sergeant and radio repairman in the Air Force and served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, two children and five grandchildren.
