NorthPark Baptist Church in Trussville (Birmingham Associatoin) will host a Creative and Technical Arts Conference March 12-13.
The conference will offer instruction in areas such as drama, clowning, puppetry and interpretive movement, while also teaching technical arts like multimedia, lighting and sound reinforcement, said Keith Hibbs, associate in the worship leadership office of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
“One of the most frequent requests we receive is for a comparative study of different worship software which will be covered in this conference,” Hibbs said.
“We are especially happy to have to opportunity to host this conference,” said Charlie Martin, minister of worship at NorthPark.
Word of Mouth, a drama group from Dallas, Texas will be leading a wide array of drama workshops including sessions on directing, writing scripts, character development and building sets.
Workshops in the technical arts will include stage lighting, sound technician training, worship software and video usage in worship. All will be taught by technical artists from the Birmingham area.
