First Church, Mobile, will serve as host congregation for Family Promise of Coastal Alabama Oct. 2–8. The nonprofit group works to address the problems of poverty and homelessness in the Mobile and Baldwin county communities. To help call 251-432-6513. Sign-up sheets are available on Wednesday nights, on Sunday mornings and in the church office. The church also will hold its divinity school Oct. 5–Nov. 9. The three courses available are A Case for Responsible Engagement with Creation, Hallelujah: Handel’s “Messiah” and God’s People and Comfort for God’s People: Then and Now: Isaiah’s God and God’s Mission Servant.
