Bowles, John L.

John L. Bowles, former senior pastor of Sixth Street Baptist Church, Alexander City, died Oct. 3. He was 65.

Bowles served as pastor of three Alabama churches, including Sixth Street Baptist from 1991 until 2002.

During his years of ministry, he also served as pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church, Paris, Tenn., for six years and served churches in Waco, Texas, and Brevard, N.C.

Bowles is survived by his wife of 45 years, Georgia; four children; and 14 grandchildren. (TAB)
