Just because you’re a good person doesn’t mean you’ll go to heaven. That was a main theme of Judgement House at Southside Baptist Church, Opp, Oct. 26, 27 and 29.
During the event, groups wove through rooms of the Covington Baptist Association church as they were taken scene by scene through a tale known as “Invasion,” in which a fictional family experiences a home invasion.
The walk-through drama ended with a judgment scene, a scene in hell and a scene in heaven.
According to Nitaya Stanley, Southside Baptist secretary and co-director of Judgement House, there were 97 professions of faith and 117 rededications. In all, 1,040 people attended the event.
Stanley reported that the church is now in the process of following up with attendees. Senior Pastor Stewart Young is following up with adults, while his wife, Carol, is following up with children and Worship/Youth Pastor J.T. Jordan is following up with youth. The goal is to help them connect with a church in the area where they live.
“It was awesome to be a part of it,” Stanley said of the event. (TAB)
