The youth of Shades Crest Baptist Church in Birmingham are going on a missions trip to New York June 21-28.
The group, comprised of 55 youth and adults, will work with two Chinese churches located in Chinatown, Overseas Chinese Missions and Trusting God Baptist Church.
They will also spend time serving at Covenant House for runaway teens in Manhattan.
Ten members of the First Baptist Church, Montgomery, went to the Sierra Mazateca in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, to work with international missionaries.
First Baptist has also rescheduled its missions trip to Germany for October.
The group will work with Trinity Baptist Church in Baumholder, Germany, to minister to the membership and continue work on the church building.
Youth and adults from Meridianville Baptist Church in Madison Association will travel to Puerto Rica June 14-21 as a part of World Changers. David Hutto, associate pastor, is leading the trip to work on a Community Changes project there.
“Basically, we will be working on anything in the community that needs to be done,” said Hutto.
The group will host Vacation Bible Schools and backyard Bible clubs will work on construction projects.
“A group from another church will be there the week before we arrive, working on construction of the homes there,” Hutto said.
“We will be finishing anything that group is not able to complete,” he added.
MeadowBrook Baptist Church, Birmingham, is preparing for a missions trip to India.
First Baptist Church, Huntsville, sent members on a missions trip to Mali Jan. 29-Feb. 11. A volunteer from First Baptist Church, Fayettville, Tenn., also went.
Heritage Baptist Church, Dothan, sent volunteers on a missions trip to South Africa March 7-17. They help build a church and shared the gospel.
First Baptist Church, Huntsville, is preparing for two Canada summer missions trips. One will be to Toronto in late June. The other will be to Winnipeg in early August.
First Baptist Church, Sylacauga, is preparing for a youth summer missions trip to Honduras.
Brookwood Baptist Church, Birmingham, will be going on a construction missions trip June 1-8 to Aurora, Colo.
North Shelby Baptist Church of the Shelby Association sent 16 volunteers to Curacao Jan. 25-Feb. 1 on a missions trip.
Geneva Baptist Association needs volunteers to work in area churches July 14-18.
Tom Snyder and Alejandro Pajaro of Elmore Baptist Association traveled to Colombia in December.
