Q: How did you find out about your church?
A: One of my best friends from childhood … told me about it.
Q: What made you decide to commit to the church?
A: The Lord answered every prayer I had about (finding) people who would sharpen me. … It was (also) a combo of having opportunities to serve and upperclassmen mingle with me and care about me — not just small talk, but actually hanging out and reaching out to me.
Q: What difference did being plugged into your church make during your freshman year?
A: My best friends were in my life group and we’re continuing to do life together, and that’s reshaped my life. We’d go and hang out rather than getting led to parties or [something else]. We’ve done ministry together. … It’s redirected my life toward the Lord.
