Q: How has she shared her faith throughout her life?

A: She was active in church and was married to a deacon. She was always praying with us and reading the Bible to us. She read a children’s Bible to us at night. The Bible is still in the family being read to her great-grandchildren.

Q: What kind of jobs has she held?

A: After farming, my parents went into the grocery store business and ran several different ones. Dad worked for the county and she ran the grocery store/gas station for about 15 years.

Q: What are some of her fondest memories?

A: She will always tell us about her mother, a midwife. That memory has never altered.

Q: To what does she attribute her longevity?

A: She is in pretty good health. When people ask her what’s caused her to live this long, she will respond, “Live right and pray and leave all your worries to the Lord.” She has been in an assisted living home for 12 years and has always been the oldest.

Q: How do you describe her?

A: She is an outgoing out- standing person. Once you talk with her, you leave blessed.

Q: How does her church help her now?

A: One of the retired pastors is there weekly to see her. Her church supports her by sending letters of encouragement and newsletters. Somebody brings her roses on Mother’s Day or her birthday.

Q: How do her family members support her?

A: We’re there with her usually every day.
