Judson College in Marion received national recognition in the recently published Washington Monthly College Guide and Rankings.
Judson ranked 58th in the “2012 Liberal Arts Colleges” category, making it the top-ranked school statewide in this category.
Other Alabama schools ranked under the “Liberal Arts Colleges” category included Birmingham Southern College (111), Talladega College (202) and Stillman College (214).
According to Washington Monthly, schools are rated based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research and service.
Judson President David Potts frequently exhorts students and faculty to “engage” the community through service.
“Students and faculty alike find meaning in authentic service — living the exhortation of Christ in the 25th chapter of the Gospel of Matthew,” he said.
