Ina Flowers has retired as church secretary of First Church, Foley, after 30 years at the post. She began there on Jan. 28, 1974, and retired Jan. 28, 2004, after serving five pastors and two interim pastors. Flowers and her husband, James “Bud” Flowers, enjoyed a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, which was a gift from the church in appreciation of her long service. In addition to her work as church secretary, she teaches a Sunday School class, works in the kitchen, sings in the choir, participates in outreach and socials and teaches in Vacation Bible School. The Flowerses have three children. Billy Nale is pastor of First Church, Foley.
