CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — In what was described as “a remarkable answer to prayer,” the Bible Society of Egypt was granted permission Jan. 21 to sell its Bible story videos at the Cairo International Book Fair.
The Bible Society of Egypt, which had exclusive rights to distribute the professionally produced videos, had hundreds dubbed into Egyptian Arabic to sell at the fair. Just days before the fair opened Jan. 17, the society was told it could not show or sell the videos.
Calling the reversal a “miracle,” Ramez Atallah of the Bible Society of Egypt said the organization was told it could sell cassettes and videos as long as they did not project them or attract undue attention to them.
