CP giving increases 7.49 percent for February

NASHVILLE — An increase of 7.49 percent in churches’ gifts to the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) was recorded in February 2002 over February 2001, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.

February’s $16,886,897.19 in CP missions gifts was $1,176,564.36 above February 2001 gifts of $15,710,332.83. In year-to-date CP giving, $77,678,195,48 has been received compared with $74,925,228.56 in 2001–02, marking an increase of 3.67 percent or $2,752,966.92.

For the SBC Cooperative Program Allocation Budget, the February receipts of $16,886,897.19 were 113.65 percent of budget, surpassing the budgeted $14,858,239.92 by $2,028,657.27.
