‘Grace Unplugged’ No. 1 in fan votes on Fandango.com

“Grace Unplugged,” a Christian movie with a scene filmed at Liberty Park Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills, opened in theaters Oct. 4.

The Faith & Family Film production became the most popular viewer-rated film on Fandango.com and sold over one million dollars in ticket sales over the weekend, according to news sources.

Starring former Disney star A.J. Michalka and former worship minister turned actor James Denton, “Grace Unplugged” is the story of a talented teen singer who leaves home to pursue her musical career. Grace Trey, played by Michalka, is tested in her Christian faith as she defies her worship minister father and pursues pop-music stardom.

The movie was filmed from mid-August to September 2012 at The Club in Birmingham, the Alabama Theatre and Liberty Baptist.

“Grace Unplugged” is showing at several Alabama theaters including Trussville Cinema 16, Patton Creek 15 in Hoover, Summit 16, AmStar Stadium 14 in Alabaster and Lee Branch 15.
