Births outnumbering deaths in America

WASHINGTON — National studies show that for the first time in three decades, the numbers of babies being born in America is greater than the number of deaths. An increase in births among women in their 30s was a major factor in a three-year increase in births overall.

Anne Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League notes that many American women are viewing motherhood as an important aspect of their lives, and are not just focusing on careers and independence. Government  studies also note a decline in births by teenage girls. Bill Albert of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy says that teens are heeding the message that it is OK for them to delay sexual relationships.
