Heritage Bible College names Barnett president

Lee Barnett, who served as provost and executive vice president since 2009, was named the president of Heritage Bible College (HBC) in Huntsville on Oct. 7.

Barnett earned degrees from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and has served on the staff of churches in Alabama and Tennessee in youth and education for 20 years.

HBC is a private Christian college affiliated with Madison Baptist Association and is a licensed postsecondary education institution that is a ministry of Whitesburg Baptist Church, Huntsville. Under Barnett’s leadership, HBC plans to include a liberal arts program. 

HBC also will partner with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and serve as a graduate extension center starting August 2014. 

Barnett and his wife, Robyn, have four children and are members of Whitesburg Baptist.
