Nicole Nordeman This Mystery (Sparrow)

Nicole Nordeman This Mystery (Sparrow)

Nicole Nordeman has come to a liberating point in her understanding of faith. After reading the book “Walking on Water” by Madeline L’Engle, Nordeman has come to understand that there are simply parts of Christian faith that are mysterious. Through her acceptance of this mystery, Nordeman has gained a deeper faith in a God through which all things are possible.

This Mystery is Nordeman’s sophomore project. The message of this album is a return to simplicity of faith. The title cut on this album conveys this idea by posing the question “Do You cry, do You hope for all things made new?/Try and try to invoke us to live in You/That we might be the hands and feet in this mystery.” Aside from the outstanding songwriting and captivating lyrics, the album offers a few special songs. The worshipful “Small Enough” features a duet with Fernando Ortega. Nordeman also covers the Stevie Wonder classic “As.” Those who purchase the CD will find a live recording of the song “Why” at the conclusion of the album. Nicole Nordeman is an artist in the purest sense of the word.
