Towanda Gibson McLelland, wife of retired Choctaw Association Director of Missions Franklin McLelland, died May 3. She was 66. She was active in church, teaching children’s Sunday School and participating in Woman’s Missionary Union and missions projects. She also was the association’s ambassador to the Alabama Children’s Homes & Family Ministries. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, two children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
