David W. King, former Alabama Baptist pastor, died Sept. 4. He was 78.
King was called to preach at age 32. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Birmingham and a master of divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
King served as pastor of Plum Springs Baptist Church, Eastaboga; Harmony Baptist Church, Anniston; First Baptist Church, Harpersville; and Palma Ceia Baptist Church, Tampa, Florida. He served as bivocational pastor of Providence Baptist Church, Oakman; Glensboro Baptist Church, Glensboro, Kentucky; and Weogufka Second Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha; three children; and four grandchildren.
