Retired Alabama Baptist pastor Samuels dies at 82

Retired Alabama Baptist pastor Franklin Delano “Frank” Samuels died Jan. 31. He was 82.

A native of Baxter, Kentucky, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business education from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. He taught high school business classes until 1964 when he enrolled in Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

After earning his master of divinity Samuels served as pastor of a number of churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Alabama, including two stints at College Heights Baptist, Glencoe, where he was serving when he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances; daughter, Susie; son, Joel; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. (TAB)
