After the Chase, the husband and wife duo of Nathan and Jenna Strong, follow up their self-titled 2004 debut with “Make Me New,” a 10-song collection of smooth, mellow but creative coffee-shop-meets-the-sanctuary folk-rock.

Produced by Nate Sabin, who has collaborated with Sara Groves, the self-released record is well-crafted and well-paced. Sabin also contributes a trumpet solo and some harmonica work, which, in addition to the mandolin, waterphone, violin, cello, viola and the keyboards played by Christian music veteran Phil Madeira, help keep things not just deep, but interesting.
