Alabama Baptist churches and associations across the state have been busy filling backpacks with school supplies and purchasing school uniforms and clothes. Some even provided new socks and shoes for needy children.
Members of NorthPark Baptist Church, Trussville, partnered with Twenty-Third Street Baptist Church, Birmingham, Aug. 3 to hand out the items collected by both churches, Mission Birmingham and Samaritan’s Feet.
Church members washed the children’s feet and prayed for them before putting on their new socks and shoes. Mission Birmingham also provided items for all the foster children in Jefferson County.
“We took care of all the orphans in the county,” said Frank Woodson of Mission Birmingham.
