Alabama Baptists are among those appointed to serve during the upcoming annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) in Indianapolis June 15–16.
SBC President Jack Graham appointed Larry Felkins, director of missions for Chilton Association, and Doug Wever, pastor of Harvest Baptist Church (Madison Assoc.), to serve on the credentials committee.
Graham also appointed Jeff Vanlandingham, pastor of Green Valley Baptist Church, Birmingham, and Randy Johnson, pastor of Cypress Shores Baptist Church, Mobile, to serve on the tellers committee.
Martin Collier of First Baptist Church, North Mobile, in Saraland, and Jerry Henry of First Baptist Church, Fairhope, were named to the committee on committees.
The 2004 SBC committee on nominations also nominated several Alabama Baptists to serve on the various SBC boards and entities. Nominees will serve if elected by the messengers to the annual meeting.

Executive Committee — Mitchell E. Gavin, layperson and member of First Baptist Church, Alexander City, with term to expire 2008.
International Mission Board — H. Herman Pair, Oneonta, and William H. (Bill) Hickman, Dothan, both nominated for second terms.
LifeWay Christian Resources — Roger D. Willmore, pastor of First Baptist Church, Boaz, nominated for a second term.
Southeastern Seminary — Ed Litton, pastor of First Baptist Church, North Mobile, in Saraland, nominated for a second term.
Golden Gate Seminary — Calvin Kelly, pastor of Valleydale Baptist Church, Birmingham, nominated for a second term. (BP)
