Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) President Frank Page has named members of the SBC Credentials Committee and the Committee on Committees for the June 12–13 annual meeting in San Antonio. The SBC Committee on Nominations also announced its list of nominees to serve on various SBC boards.
– Larry Felkins, director of missions (DOM) for Chilton Baptist Association, will serve on the Credentials Committee.
– Mike McLemore, DOM for Birmingham Baptist Association, and Ron Madison, pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Huntsville, will serve on the Committee on Committees.
Other Alabamians nominated to serve are:
– Steve Loggins, DOM for North Jefferson Baptist Association — Executive Committee, expiring 2011.
– Frankie J. Smitherman, First Baptist Church, North Mobile, in Saraland — GuideStone Financial Resources, second term.
– James W. Pruett, pastor of Concord Baptist Church, Bessemer, and Linda Jean Applegarth, Taylor Road Baptist Church, Montgomery — International Mission Board, second term.
– Larry E. Gipson, pastor of First Baptist Church, Oneonta — North American Mission Board, second term.
– Bud Young, Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, Mobile — New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, second term. (TAB)
