Alabama Baptists will serve in strategic roles at this year’s Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., June 15–16, and some will continue that service during the next few years on a SBC committee or board. SBC President Johnny Hunt has named members of the Committee on Committees, Credentials Committee, Resolutions Committee and Tellers Committee for the annual meeting.
• Rob Jackson, senior pastor of Central Baptist Church, Decatur, and Greg Corbin, associate pastor of teaching and ministry of Whitesburg Baptist Church, Huntsville, will serve on the Committee on Committees.
• Gary Cardwell, director of missions for Etowah Baptist Association, and Mark Wood, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Fultondale, will serve on the Credentials Committee.
• Shane Russell, pastor of Shoal Creek Baptist Church, Deatsville, will serve on the Resolutions Committee.
• James Taylor, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Sheffield, will serve as the chairman of the Tellers Committee, and Randy Norris, pastor of The Church at Ross Station, Hoover, will serve on the Tellers Committee.
