In a service celebrating the faithfulness of God who "initiates new beginnings," Brent P. McDougal was installed as the second coordinator of Alabama Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) Nov. 20.
The service was held at Andrew Gerow Hodges Chapel of Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham. McDougal comes to this position from Corinth Heights Baptist Church, Haleyville, in Winston Baptist Association, where he served as pastor since 2002.
In his role as coordinator, McDougal will be responsible for increasing overall support for Alabama CBF and serving as a resource for pastors and congregations across the state. He will lead the Alabama CBF staff and serve on the movement leadership team of national CBF. His work will also include responsibilities with Sowing Seeds of Hope, a joint partnership addressing rural poverty in Perry County.
Pastor Dennis Foust of Shades Crest Baptist Church and Pastor Sarah Jackson Shelton of Baptist Church of the Covenant, both in Birmingham, spoke during the service.
"God continues to do a new thing," Shelton said. (Alabama CBF)
