Alabama Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) has named Brent McDougal as its new coordinator, effective Oct. 15.
McDougal served as pastor of Corinth Heights Baptist Church, Haleyville, from 2002 until accepting the position at Alabama CBF. He replaces Mart Gray, who resigned late last year to become full-time pastor of Covenant Community Church, in Elba.
In his role as coordinator, McDougal will lead the Alabama CBF staff and serve on the leadership team of national CBF. His work will also include responsibilities with Sowing Seeds of Hope, an initiative addressing rural poverty needs in Perry County.
A Montgomery native, McDougal holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Alabama, master of divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham and bachelor of arts in political science and religion from Emory University in Atlanta. (Alabama CBF)
