Every year volunteers from Alabama Crenshaw Baptist Association churches join together to bring Christmas cheer to residents of Luverne Health and Rehab in Luverne.
This year 30 volunteers from 24 associational churches helped organize donations for a ‘Walmart’ shopping experience for residents Dec. 17.
There was clothing, toiletry items, jewelry, blankets, shoes, coats and more available for residents to ‘purchase’ with tickets provided to them.
Jewel Killough, associational Woman’s Missionary Union missions consultant, who hosts the event, said this year had ‘such a great Christmas spirit.’
Refreshments were served to the 68 residents who participated and volunteers took items to the residents who were unable to make it to the event.
