Alabama pastor W. Tom Stewart, who formerly served at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Talladega, died Dec. 7 at age 70.
During 53 years of ministry, Stewart served as pastor of 17 churches in eight states, including several Alabama churches: Ninth Avenue Baptist, Birmingham; New Hope (now Grantswood) Baptist, Birmingham; Grace Baptist, Childersburg; and Mount Hebron Baptist Church, Leeds.
At the time of his death, Stewart was serving as a supply pastor in the Birmingham area. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, four children and six grandchildren.
