Alabama pastors prep for Graham event

Will Graham, grandson of famed evangelist Billy Graham, is coming to Gardendale First Baptist Church for a gospel crusade March 1 as part of the Alabama Baptist State Evangelism Conference, and Alabama Baptists are getting ready.

Jim Coldiron, North American Mission Board representative, spoke to an audience of about 120 pastors and directors of missions during the Tuesday lunch hour of the Alabama Baptist State Convention’s annual meeting Nov. 16–17 at Hunter Street Baptist Church, Hoover. During the training session held at Regions Park and hosted by the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions office of evangelism, Coldiron told the audience about the purpose of the crusade, its planning process and its blessings and benefits. He weaved in stories of people who accepted Christ during previous crusade events, encouraging the pastors and directors of missions to help maximize the effectiveness of next year’s crusade.

Coldiron invited the audience to pray for the event, bring people who don’t know Jesus and recruit believers to be trained as counselors.
