Herbert T. Thomas, pastor of Circlewood Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, and member of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Executive Committee, was approved to be appointed as a director of the Southern Baptist Foundation during the Executive Committee’s Feb. 21-22 meeting. Hollie Miller of Tennessee was also approved for appointment.
Directors of the Foundation are chosen from current members of the Executive Committee by the Foundation and approved by the Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee also:
– Approved an increase of 2.7 percent in the salary structure for Executive Committee staff.
– Received two checks, each totaling $50,600, in missions offerings received from the 46,000 participants in the seven-city YouthLink 2000 held Dec. 29-31. One check will be forwarded to the International Mission Board, the other to the North American Mission Board. (BP)
