Memories in Black and White
Self-Released
An artist in every sense of the word, Allan Butt is again making a name for himself. Except, this time, it’s on disc rather than canvas. Though it would be wrong to say Butt is unfamiliar with the medium of music. The creative Mobile Baptist and ordained minister who was heavily involved in Mobile’s early Contemporary Christian Music scene has released “Memories in Black and White,” a cohesively eclectic collection of southern waltz, southern rock, country and bluegrass easily described as a love letter to his home state of Alabama.
Banjo, fiddle, mandolin and steel pedal filter through the traditional guitars and drums, and a heightened nostalgia combs through the lyrics. Butt sings of Confederates and Yankees, saints and sinners, God and the devil, and each song is a story worth telling. Go to www.AllanButt.com for information.
