Robert Wayne Allcorn, pastor of churches in Blount and Jefferson counties for 43 years, died Sept. 1. He was 70.
Allcorn was ordained into the ministry in 1967. He served as pastor of Robin Hill Baptist Church, Harmony Baptist Church, Haw Grove Baptist Church and Oneonta Second Baptist Church, all in Oneonta; Fairview Baptist Church, Birmingham; Union Grove No. 2 Baptist Church, Altoona; Welcome No. 2 Baptist Church, Tarrant; New Bethel Baptist Church, Blountsville; New Emmaus Baptist Church, Altoona; and Allgood Baptist Church.
Allcorn and his wife, Lorene, owned and operated Allcorn Heating and Cooling for more than 25 years as he served as a bivocational pastor.
Allcorn is survived by his wife, two children and three grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his daughter, Lori.
