Titilayo Rachel Adedokun came to Judson at the age of 14 and was quickly noticed by professor of music Betty Campbell as a “future star.” Following her graduation from Judson in 1991, Campbell encouraged Titi, as she is called, to audition for the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, to which she received a full scholarship. There Adedokun became Miss Ohio and the Second Runner-up to Miss America in 1993. She has since captivated audiences around the world. Adedokun’s talent and experience span different musical genres including opera, Broadway musicals and spirituals.
Her husband, Ruediger Helm, worked together with Campbell to surprise her with a trip to Judson during the 175th Anniversary year. Adedokun gave a brief testimonial and concert for students, faculty and the community Sept. 4.
