Carolina Baptist Church, Andalusia, is putting ‘boots on the ground’ for missions work in its own community, Pastor Keith Tankersley said. Part of that effort is a partnership with local Northside Baptist. ‘The pastor of Northside (Ray Miles) and I got together and started talking to see how we could reach out into their changing neighborhood,’ Tankersley said. The idea for a block party was birthed, and Aug. 9, the two congregations gathered for a night of music, inflatables, hot dogs and backpack and school-supply giveaways at Northside. The event brought the opportunity to share the gospel with those who hadn’t heard, Tankersley said.
