Liberty Home Baptist Church, Andalusia, celebrated its 75th anniversary Sept. 16.
Many former members returned for the anniversary service, said Elizabeth Barnes, who served on the anniversary planning committee. During the service, Margaret Maddox Edwards, the first person baptized at Liberty Home Baptist, spoke about the church’s history. The Southland Vocal Band provided special music for the service, and Alabama Baptist Historical Commission representative Don Donald presented a plaque to the church.
After the service, in which interim pastor Hank Roberts gave the message, the church held a covered-dish luncheon.
“We had a really great day,” Barnes said.
