Andrews new Escambia DOM

Patrick Andrews became the new director of missions for Escambia Baptist Association, Flomaton, April 23.
“I’ve enjoyed the warm, friendly people I’ve met so far, and the good work going on in so many of the churches here.” Andrews said.

As the director of missions, Andrews will direct the 36 churches in Escambia Association. “I’ll be leading and guiding the work of the churches as they seek to grow and improve in many ways,” he said.

One of his first tasks as director of missions was to meet with a church’s search committee to find a new pastor. He said part of his job also entails being “a pastor to the pastors,” or a “confidant.”

Andrews said that his goal as the director of missions is to bring the churches together. “There is such a distance with the churches on the East Side and the churches on the West Side,” he said.

Andrews comes from Pensacola, Fla., where he was the associate director of missions for the Pensacola Bay Baptist Association for two years.

“This really helped me get ready and prepare for the position of Escambia director of missions,” Andrews said. He was also the pastor of five churches in Missouri and Florida.

Andrews is the husband to Evelyn and the father to Aaron who attends Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Mo., and Jon who attends Pensacola Junior College.
