Solitude’s anniversary service prompts membership jump

For Solitude Baptist Church, Albertville, its 125th anniversary Sept. 25 was a celebration of the church’s rich missions history.

Church members who formerly served on the missions field shared stories of their time in China and Montana, places where the Marshall Baptist Association church still ministers today.

At the Sunday morning service, the church praise team provided special music and a photo slideshow was shown. Memorabilia from the church’s past was displayed in the fellowship hall. Marshall Association Director of Missions Randall Stoner presented the church with a plaque on behalf of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission.

Since the celebration day highlighting the mission of the church, 17 people have joined. Pastor Joey Cannady said he anticipates more will join in the coming weeks. (Compiled by the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission and TAB)
