For a number of reasons, I think it’s most unfortunate that Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission Executive Director Russell Moore participated in the anti-Trump edition of the National Review.
One is that his participation implies to many the acquiescence of other Southern Baptists. We know our leaders only speak for themselves but other non-Baptists may not know this. Second it’s puzzling to me why Moore would accuse Trump of being “secretly” pro-choice but ignore the three candidates on the other side who are openly pro-choice. And finally no primary votes have been cast yet so denouncing a candidate isn’t helpful. Let the people speak.
