BOSTON — Lawyers said the Archdiocese of Boston will sign a $10 million settlement deal with 86 victims of defrocked pedophile priest John Geoghan after church officials vetoed a proposed $30 million deal earlier this year. The $10 million settlement awaited approval on Sept. 19 from Massachusetts Judge Constance Sweeney. Victims’ lawyer Mitchell Garabedian said all 86 plaintiffs had agreed to the deal. The settlement does not include an apology from church leaders for transferring Geoghan throughout the archdiocese, despite documented abuse allegations.
