As people across the nation continue to grieve the flooding tragedy in Texas, Alabama Baptists are among those who are responding through prayer and financial gifts to help out with disaster relief efforts.
There’s a blog post on Camp ASCCA’s website called “How Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief saved our summer,” and camp director Matt Rickman said they mean it.
Sarah Marsh, the 8-year-old daughter of Samford University assistant professor Patrick Marsh, is among those who lost their lives in a flash flood July 4 at Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas.
“The first year I was here, we had no other staff, no one walked the aisle. I began to question my call,” Rick Campbell said. “But you could see the Holy Spirit moving.”
This past year, Gavin Norris has been the campus missionary at the University of North Alabama, a new position created at four Alabama universities by the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
