Auburn’s Lakeview Baptist calls Brian Payne as pastor

Lakeview Baptist Church, Auburn, has called Brian Payne to be its new pastor starting June 20. He will serve concurrently with longtime pastor Al Jackson until Jackson retires Oct. 31.

Payne has earned two degrees from the University of Alabama. He served as a pastoral intern on the Lakeview staff from 1999 to 2002 while pursuing a master of divinity degree in systematic theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Payne also holds a doctorate degree from Southern Seminary.

He returns to Lakeview from Kentucky, where he presently serves as pastor of First Baptist Church, Fisherville, and professor of preaching and theology at Boyce College.
