A large yellow and white tent sitting just off U.S. Highway 31 in Autauga County July 23–26 served as the launching site for a community “awakening.”
The Autauga Area Tent Crusade was to start “an awakening among God’s people to inspire them to go out” into the community, as well as bring nonbelievers to the crusade, said Clay Carroll, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, Deatsville, in Autauga Baptist Association.
Along with Liberty Baptist, other churches participating were Pine Level First Baptist, Prattville; New Prospect Baptist, Marbury; Marbury Baptist; Boone’s Chapel Baptist, Prattville; Wadsworth Baptist, Deatsville; Bethlehem Baptist, Marbury; Safe Harbor Outreach Center, Prattville; and Pine Level United Methodist, Prattville.
Of the approximately 700 people attending the crusade, at least seven people came to Christ as believers, Carroll noted. (TAB)
