Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School will present a conference, The Will to Believe and the Need for Creed: Evangelicals and the Nicene Creed, Sept. 28–30.
The program is designed for theologians, pastors and all Christians concerned with how to present faith in an age of increasing syncretism (the idea that all religions lead to the same thing) and radical pluralism.
Speakers include Tom Oden, professor of theology and ethics at Drew University in Madison, N.J., and director of the Center for Early African Christianity; Episcopal Church of Rwanda bishop John Rucyahana, whose ministry is noted for effective servant leadership in the midst of great challenges; and Beeson Dean Timothy George, noted author and specialist in church history and doctrine.
Other speakers are guest theologians David P. Nelson, Elizabeth Newman, Matt Pinson and Curtis Freeman and Beeson faculty members Frank Thielman, Mark Gignilliat, Carl Beckwith, Steven Harmon and Mark DeVine.
For information and reservations, contact the school at 205-726-2731 or 1-800-888-8266 or go to www.beesondivinity.com.
