Ed Berry goes out of his way to help lead men in jail to the Lord. After becoming a Christian in 1986, he has seen the difference Christ has made in his life and spends time encouraging men in jail to give their lives to Him.
Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: I had a faithful grandmother who taught me the ways of the Lord and on Aug. 12, 1986, I gave my life to the Lord.
Q: Why did you decide to get involved in the prison ministry?
A: I was led by God and I just felt that tugging at the heart to minister to those young men in jail. I believe it was just a calling.
Q: What do you get from doing the prison ministry?
A: I probably get blessed more than those men do. It is just a humbling experience to realize that I can sit down and share about Christ with a group of men.
Q: What have been some of the demands of the ministry?
A: There is always a lot of preparation time and prayer.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in this in the future?
A: I hope that I can continue to witness and teach the Lord Jesus Christ to many men in the future. I hope that one day, when I am in Heaven, I will see their faces.
Q: What difference has being a Christian made in your life?
A: It has been a great difference. It gives me a purpose to live and to love people I never thought I could love.
