ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Evangelist Billy Graham, 85, underwent surgery in an Asheville, N.C., hospital May 20 following a fall at his home May 14. The surgery to stabilize the pelvic fracture he suffered was successful, according to a hospital spokesperson.
The procedure will enable Graham to begin immediately a program of physical rehabilitation, which was scheduled to begin May 21.
Graham — who had been at home recovering from a partial hip replacement he received in January — is scheduled to preach at crusades in Kansas City, Mo., June 17–20, and Los Angeles, July 29–Aug. 1. All options are being explored, including possible postponement of the Kansas City crusade, a Graham spokesperson said.
