Phil Robertson, patriarch of the “Duck Dynasty” family, has served Jesus for nearly 50 years. Before he had a life transformation in his late 20s, he lived out the phrase, “If it feels good, do it.” Since then, his mission has been to spread the gospel through his life, his family and his business.
To that end Robertson — along with his brother-in-law Gordon Dasher — has written “I Could Be Wrong, But I Doubt It: Why Jesus is Your Greatest Hope on Earth and in Eternity.”
‘Making His case’
“I wanted to write this book because I had this thought that Jesus is really making His case, from Genesis to Revelation, that He is not only qualified to be the Master of our lives, but that He desires to be. We don’t like to think about God begging, but He does plead with us to come to Him,” Robertson writes in “I Could be Wrong.”
“God pleading with His children to embrace immortality? What a novel idea. Who would dream up a God like that?” Robertson continues.
Calling the Bible the “resume of Jesus,” Robertson sets out to share evidence of who Jesus is through topics such as:
- Jesus, the Creator
- Jesus, the greatest Teacher
- Jesus, our Defense Attorney
One message
“I Could Be Wrong” is 187 pages of ways that Jesus has revealed Himself to Robertson. Throughout the whole book, Robertson has one message.
“I’ll say this more than once, but this is my theme in this book. When I cast my eyes and thoughts on Jesus (Heb. 3:1, 12:2), it isn’t long before I begin to find Him beautiful. And the more beautiful He becomes to me, the more I desire Him.
“And the more I desire Him, the less I am obsessed with the fleeting things of this world.”
